Three years after awarding their first scholarship, Masonic Lodge #390 in collaboration with the Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers’ Coalition (AOMC) has proudly expanded their commitment to workforce development by awarding $500 scholarships to three exceptional local students: Jaden Martin, Kylee Lewis, and Claire Mangiafico.

This continued partnership underscores a shared mission to foster the next generation of skilled workers in Appalachian Ohio. Each recipient brings a unique story of resilience, dedication, and community-minded ambition to the region’s growing manufacturing and technical workforce.

Claire Mangiafico, a senior at Marietta High School, is headed to Ohio University this fall to pursue a degree in Engineering Technology and Management (ETM). Claire participated in the AOMC-funded internship program through Building Bridges to Careers (BB2C), where she worked at Micro Machine Works. BB2C provided Claire with the professional tools and confidence needed to thrive in a hands-on environment—skills she now looks forward to deepening through her upcoming summer internship with AOMC. “I'm excited to keep adding to my book of skills and take the next step toward a career in technical leadership,” she said.

Jaden Martin, now a manufacturing technician at AOMC, has carved out a career defined by teamwork, work ethic, and mentorship. A former football and baseball player, Jaden brings that same drive to his profession. “I love helping people and being part of a team that works toward a common goal,” Jaden shared. “Mentoring others is a big part of what makes this work fulfilling for me.”

Kylee Lewis is also an AOMC team member, known for her resilience and dedication. Raised in a single-parent household, Kylee learned early the value of independence and determination—traits that have served her well through both personal and professional challenges, including a recent battle with stage 2 Hodgkin's lymphoma. “Going through that made me even more committed to problem-solving and making a difference,” said Kylee. Her journey is a testament to strength and perseverance, and her leadership continues to inspire her peers.

“These students embody the spirit of Appalachian Ohio—hardworking, passionate, and forward-thinking,” said Linn Yost, AOMC Board President. “Through partnerships like the one we have with Masonic Lodge #390 and organizations like BB2C, we’re building a strong foundation for the region’s future workforce.”
