This beginner-level course introduces students to the basics of MIG welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding - GMAW), one of the most widely used and accessible welding processes. Perfect for hobbyists, beginners, and those exploring a welding career, this hands-on class focuses on safety, equipment setup, and foundational MIG welding techniques.
Topics Include: Intro to MIG welding equipment and components, Welding safety and personal protective equipment (PPE), Wire types, shielding gases, and material selection, Machine settings: voltage, wire feed speed, and polarity, Basic weld joints in the flat and horizontal positions, Troubleshooting common MIG welding problems, Hands-on practice welding mild steel
No previous welding experience is required.
Time: 5:00 pm - 7:00 p.m.
Open to those 16 years of age or older. Two person maximum per class.
