This beginner-friendly course introduces students to the fundamentals of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), commonly known as stick welding. Designed for hobbyists, aspiring welders, and anyone interested in metalworking, this hands-on class covers essential safety practices, equipment setup, and basic welding techniques.
Topics Include: Overview of welding processes and applications, Safety gear and shop safety, Proper setup and maintenance of stick welding equipment, Electrode selection and usage, Basic welding joints and positions (flat, horizontal), Striking an arc and maintaining arc length
No prior welding experience is necessary.
Time: 5:00 pm - 7:00 p.m.
Open to those 16 years of age or older. Two person maximum per class.
