Intermediate MigWelding

This intermediate course is designed for students who have a basic understanding of MIG welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding – GMAW) and are ready to build on their foundational skills. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students will develop stronger welds, learn to work in multiple positions, and gain experience with more advanced joints and techniques.

Topics Include: Review of MIG welding safety and equipment setup, Fine-tuning machine settings for different materials and thicknesses, Welding in multiple positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead, Advanced joint types: T-joints, lap joints, and groove welds, Wire and shielding gas selection for various applications, Welding thicker materials and understanding heat input, troubleshooting weld defects and improving weld quality

Requirements: Completion of an Intro to MIG Welding course or prior welding experience is required.

Two person maximum per class.
